The creative and talented Judith Shahverdian, lives in the north of Italy, and has a special way of relating to children, extending their imagination and teaching facts and values in the process.

The Amazing Adventures of Captain Bootsie Bear and his Fearless Crew

Captain Bootsie Bear & His Crew are from a planet called Puppy World (yes, they're dogs that talk!). They have won a school competition for excellence to travel to different worlds to learn about those worlds & cultures, in the hope that knowledge is the key to understanding & harmony between different peoples.

Their first adventure begins in Italy. By use of fantasy and humour the child learns about history, science, music, art, foods, etc. The first in the series begins in Italy. Captain Bootsie Bear and His Fearless Crew will continue their adventures around the globe, exploring different countries and bringing each country's rich heritage and culture to all children of the world.

This is a children's book that can be read by a parent with their child or by an older child alone. "The Amazing Adventures of Captain Bootsie Bear and his Fearless Crew", is a journey that takes the reader and listener alike to places where the heart is free and the world is a joyous place. Judith tried tapping into the delight and intelligence suppressed in the child’s imagination while reaching out to the adult and encouraging understanding. The book is educational and informative but still is in the form of storytelling.

The images are all the author's own original design and/or taken in the area of Lake Como. The four protagonists in the book are real dogs. Captain Bootsie Bear is the big lovable captain who loves to eat and cook. He’s the Captain, the statesman and negotiator. Cmdr Tank, "the Shadow" (Agent 007 1/2) loves sports, history and legends. Cmdr Ralph loves to invent new gadgets, explore the wonders of science and nature. Cmdr Baby Girl loves art, music, fashion and languages. They behave like brothers and sister. Each of the four are really unique onto themselves. This book is a bit unusual but it does have something to say.

Children, and also those of us who are young at heart, relate to animals.
